Are you still on diet? But you still look the same when I saw you last month!!

Both men and women nowadays can spend gazillion years together in selecting the most vibrant, attractive and the coolest outfit at the stores without cursing each other. That’s right, not only women, but men are also now very particular in portraying their personalities and parading their outfits to their friends and colleagues. These people pay meticulous attention on the material, artwork, color, stitching and the cutting of their clothes. Quite impressive indeed.  Watching all those reality shows on fashion got paid off. Our society has learnt the do’s and don’ts of fashion. Bravo!
But that isn’t the real dilemma that we are facing now. I love shopping not only for good outfits but also when it comes to buying groceries. Buying groceries to me, is as important as buying a good clothes that comes from branded labels. Not just for the brand sake, it’s the quality I’m talking about. I was shopping for groceries last week in one of the supermarket at the town. That was when I witnessed a conversation between two ladies that seem to look like friends or perhaps neighbors or maybe workmates. “Hey there Jenny! Getting your groceries done??” a lady with pretty slim figure said carrying her shopping bag and approaching the other lady that looked a little chubby that stood still with her trolley beside the dairy product department. The chubby lady just smiled and answered ‘yeah’ and nothing else. The Miss Slim continued ‘oh I see you buying a lot of low fat products’ peeking into The Miss chubby’s trolley. Then said, “are you still on diet? But you still look the same when I saw you last month!!’ sarcastically spurted and walked off. Miss chubby’s face just flashed in red out of shame and insult, marched out pushing her trolley the counter. No wonder Miss Chubby did not greet Miss slim so well just now. I was quite sure that this must not have been the first time Miss Chubby got that from her.

As per what I heard and saw at the supermarket, one of the ladies trying to lose weight and she was buying low fat products but has not got the result as what she should be getting. And then it clicked for me. No wonder Miss Chubby has not been losing weight. Low fat labeled products such as dairy products yogurt, milk, others are they really low fat?  When fat is reduced in a processed food, the carbohydrate and sugar value adjustably increased to fix the total net calories. The diet goes imbalance and result in weight gain. That just means we are getting fatter due to consuming low fat labeled products. In market nowadays we have products that are for children and adults that come with these labels of low fat. This induces malnutrition for the whole society. As matter of fact, this may result in improper weight for their age, obesity in long run, high sugar level in their body and low energy. How does it really affect them in their daily life? The answer is by being simply lazy.

That’s right. Extensive consumption of high sugar and carbohydrate will directly make them lazy. Because those overly processed food does not contain natural anti-oxidants that can keep the body and brains active.  After consuming the imbalanced meals, the low nutritional valued food will run in our body and slow our physical movements first. Next, after slowing down, body will sends a weak tired signal to the brains. That is where we get tired or sleepy.  Automatically brains will slow down and adjust the functioning flow in apparel with the body. Therefore the brains will run slow as well. This is how we fall into a disease called Laziness. Well that is just the beginning.  There are many more disasters to come. Extensive weight gain, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, hyper tension and many more along the road. How do we expect our children to study hard and score good grades in school when we feed them a mouthful of laziness in the form of processed low fat products that is just about to be harmful to their health?

Solution!!!!!!!
In replacement of these dairy low fat products, we might as well consume the original product that does seem to come in balanced nutrition without being labeled as low fat. Or our community can opt for a change in their daily meals by consuming earthy natural food that has not been processed such as canned food, easy microwaveable food, and pre-packed food that we can buy from the supermarkets and simply cook them with 3 steps. These are simple and fast food, but have failed to fulfill the body’s main requirement of being healthy food. Also, keep in mind to control the portion. We all know what healthy foods are and how they look like, why delay then? Why hide under the cluster of busy or no time when you easily make a difference in what’s for dinner today? It is all about making one good decision for the rest of the family members. Health is important.
